In just the past two and a half years, BEW Engineering has become the premier source for PV System Independent Engineering services. On behalf of nearly two dozen financiers, project developers, and system integrators, BEW Engineering has acted as a third-party Independent Engineer on over 100 PV system installations with individual systems ranging from 70 kW to 14 MW, totaling approximately 100 MW of combined system capacity.

PV System Engineering and Review activities include

• design reviews for code compliance
• detailed energy predictions
• probability analyses of energy forecasts
• contract and warranty reviews
• construction schedule review
• risk assessment
• system acceptance, inspections, and commissioning acceptance
• operations and maintenance assessment.

BEW Engineering has extensive modeling capabilities to evaluate expected system energy production and project economics for a wide variety of situations. This experience has been applied in several PV-related technical support roles with the Sandia National Laboratories, National Renewable Energy Laboratory, the Sacramento Municipal Utility District, Pacific Gas and Electric, and the California Energy Commission.
