Development of Utility Interconnection Requirements
BEW Engineering acts as a key technical member of FOCUS (Forging Consensus on Utility Interconnections) team that is facilitating, with the California Energy Commission, the development and enhancement of a statewide interconnection rule - California Electric Rule 21. Information on this ongoing process can be found at www.rule21.ca.gov. BEW Engineering is responsible for facilitating the technical breakout group, leading the development of the technical requirements section and the testing and certification section of Rule 21. Besides California, BEW Engineering has worked on interconnection issues directly and indirectly with various state energy commissions, including New Jersey, New York, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Utah, Virginia, and Wyoming.
